City Startup Labs is Working to Address the Digital Divide

The City Startup Labs’ ReEntry Entrepreneurship Program (REEP) is currently looking to train and hire formerly incarcerated persons to work through the end of the year to tackle the Digital Divide in Charlotte. REEP has two workforce opportunities as:

  1. Digital Navigators – functioning in a support role helping community members with their basic technology needs. Also, they will be working with the Mecklenburg Library’s Meck Tech project. Go to this link for more details and to apply: Digi-Nav
  2. Internet Technician – installing wireless Internet service, throughout Charlotte, working with OpenBroadband, LLC. Go to this link for more details and to apply: OBB-Tech

Any participants in these opportunities will be automatically considered for the upcoming REEP cohort with a focus on digital technology social entrepreneurship.

Funds for these projects are made possible through the COVID Relief CARES Act provided by the United Way of the Central Carolinas and the City of Charlotte, North Carolina.
